\"Arizona\" (VERY-EARLY) NATIVE AMERICAN-WOVEN-YUCCA SANDAL-NATIVE AMERICAN For Sale

This is an Authentic,and Very Old WOVEN-YUCCA-SANDAL. It has 2-well-defined-knots, a circular-toe-section, a partial-heel-section (which is presently folded over), and a strap that runs along both sides to the heal. Also, the bottom (walking-surface) is slightly worn and frayed, which reflects it\'s functional-usage by the owner/wearer of that day.... It had been hand-formed and shaped using green, pliable yucca-stands, and then allowed to dry in thehot Arizona sunshine. It had been madeby an (Archaic) Early Native American Indian of the Verde Valley area of Arizona, and still-contains the remains of the very-fine-cave-dust embedded within the weaving. ....This is a FRAGILE, \"PERISHABLE,\" and ARCHAIC (500-800 YEARS OLD (if not older)) INDIAN ARTIFACT. It is a wonder that it has withstood the weathering processes over all these hundreds of years.Had it been out in the open and subjected to Arizona\'s hot sun, rain, snow, mold and mildew, desert critters, pack rats and microscopic organic material eating bugs, and NOT-been protected in this cave, it would not exist today.

I found this many-many years ago (in the early1950\'s to late 1960\'s) while exploring a cave on a private ranch with the permission of that owner. It is very Unique, is in very good condition, and is in it\'s original state.
