Vintage/antique, 808th E.A.B., (Engineers Aviation Battalion), of Army Corps engineers oil painting, signed and dated \"May 1946\".....Signed, \"Ben ?\".
Measurements are 30 inches across by 25 inches in height. Original, period,whitewashed frame.
The artist executed this piece beautifully, and is a very talented artist!
This painting is shown in \'as found\' condition from a local estate. We are selling it in \'as found\' condition.
Condition is as follows: The painting, at some point in time, appears to have been subject to moisture. (Note back of painting)......Numerous vertical lines or \'ripples\' running from top to bottom, the entire width of the painting. (We photographed at the angles at which the ripples areMOST EASILYseen). When you are actually viewing at eye-level, the ripples are not nearly as visible.......Moisture stains on the white, wooden strip surrounding the painting.......Some chips and gouges on the frame. In spite of the aforementioned, this is a fabulous painting!
The signature is \'stylized\', and we cannot identify the artist. Perhaps you can.

The 808th E.A.B., travelled around the world during WW2, excavating various locations and prepping them for airways for the U.S. Air Force, etc. etc...One of their last stops, according to what we have read, was Japan in 1945.
