Offeredfor your consideration hereis what isknown as a Gohonzon Buddhist scroll used in worship in various Nichiren Buddhist Sects. All the Nichiren sects of this Buddhism venerate the founder 13th century priest known as Nichiren Daishonin (Nichiren Shonin in some sects).
They focus their prayers towards the scroll and chant the words Nam Myoho Renge Kyo (some sects say Namu followed by Myoho Renge Kyo).
The scroll measures approx: 20.40 by 48.0 inches.
Thescroll offered here isfrom the time period 1923 transcribed by the 58th High Priest \"NITCHU SHONIN\"of the Nichiren Shoshu Sect (AT THAT TIME PERIOD NICHIREN SHOSHU WAS KNOWN ASA MINOR SECT OF THE NICHIREN SCHOOL founded by NIKKO SHONIN- LATER TO BE RENAMED NICHIREN SHOSHU in the early part of the 20th CENTURY).
Our mandala\'s are fully attributed by in-house experts so you know what you are getting.
It isin VERY GOOD condition given its age,with some minor wrinkles, creases, pin holes, stains ETC.........a very nice example of a Gohonzon from that time period(see picture). PLEASE ask questions!
