View Larger Image   Portrait on Ivory of Wagner in Dore Bronze & Ormolu Frame   Description: This exquisite frame has a Ormolu bow top and is layered with the base being Dore Bronze, lacy Filigree Ormolu under and over the Dore Bronze. There is ornate Ormolu surrounding the Portrait on Ivory. The back has a kick stand for displaying on a table and a ring to hang on the wall. The back of the painting is covered in a burgundy velvet. A masterpiece is easy to spot such as this one by Stieler. The depth and detailing is amazing. There is such clarity to the painting the portrait seems life like. 19th century miniature painting of the German composer Richard Wagner (1813-1883). It is signed by the artist, Stieler, on the right side of the portrait. The gentleman, Wagner, is wearing a Dark blue velvet Beret and jacket. The jacket is trimmed in a lighter shade of blue satin with a matching ascot. Every hair can be seen and his deep blue eyes are set off beautifully with the attire he is wearing. This has domed glass so the true beauty of the painting was hard to capture. There are reflections that make part of the background and his jacket appear lighter in areas then what the actually true colors are. The frame measures 5 1/4" high by 4" across. The painting is 3 1/2" high by 2 3/4" across. This is in amazing condition with high shine and without any missing areas to the frame.
